DPD Russia plans to expand into neighbouring CIS states to extend its network into promising newmarkets. It has also opened a new branch in Stavropol, southern Russia.
The company said it has signed partnerships with “strong local players” in Kazakhstan andUkraine and is planning to enter the logistics markets in Belarus, Azerbaijan and other CISregions.
DPD will open branches in the CIS countries, including 9 – 12 branches in Kazakhstan by 2013.Moreover, the parcels company is in the process of developing an integrated road linehaul networkfor the CIS countries. DPD said the range and quality of transportation logistics solutions to beoffered by DPD subsidiaries in the CIS will be similar to those provided in Russia.
As part of the expansion plan, Sergey Kruglov, until recently managing director of ArmadilloGroup (the DPD Russia legal entity), has taken on the position of “CEO Russia and CIS” with effectfrom 8 April. Nikolay Voinov will be replacing him as the new managing director of Armadillo Group.

Meanwhile, the new 427 sqm Stavropol facility has the capacity to handle over 5,000 parcels aday. The investment in the new facility amounted to more than RUB 1 million (EUR 27,210). The newbranch, the 27th DPD branch in Russia, offers a complete range of DPD services in Russia and isintegrated into the nationwide linehaul and IT systems.
