DPD Austria is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year after generating higher revenues andparcel volumes in 2007.
The company increased its parcel volumes by 4.4 % to 35.8 million parcels last year, 90% ofwhich are domestic shipments and 10% are international items. DPD Austria’s revenues grew from€138.7 million to €142.9 million which equals revenue growth of 3%.
“New parcel operators emerging on the Austrian market have not really influenced oursuccessful business. We have met our expectations for 2007 in every respect which speaks in favourof the quality we offer to our customers”, said managing director Rainer Schwarz.
For 2008, the company expects moderate revenue growth of 1.5% as well as an increase inparcel volumes of 2.2%. DPD Austria employs around 1.400 people and operates a fleet of 900vehicles.
Meanwhile, DPD Germany has launched its new online service portal www.neuzustellung.deoffering recipients of shipments the possibility to direct the parcel delivery to a new address incase the first delivery failed. With a few clicks customers can decide 24h/day to have their parceldelivered to a new address or to a parcel shop. A new delivery date can also be entered.
DPD Germany said this offer is a unique service among parcel service providers in thecountry.
