FedEx Express recognized thecontributions of female employees in China in honour of International Women’s Day and pointed outthe increasingly important role women play in various functional groups within the company.
At FedEx China, female employeesaccount for 32% of the workforce which is more than 6,000. At present, nearly 40% of the managingdirectors and about 30% of the management team in Asia Pacific at FedEx are women.
On the whole, management numbers ofwomen have been growing exponentially in the past three or four years. However, the Chinese marketpresents dynamic challenges for women when balancing work and family, FedEx said in astatement.
“FedEx views China as an importantpart of its strategy and the world views China as a great economy,” said Kuan Thye Sean, ManagingDirector of Human Resources, FedEx China. “With FedEx growing so rapidly in China, the demand fortalent requires the HR profession to play a major role.”
