FedEx has announced that it is now offering users of Microsoft Office Outlook, the world’s largeste-mail application, direct access to FedEx services from within the computer programme through a
special application.The new application, FedEx QuickShip, is an add-in that utilizes web services to provide fastand easy access to FedEx shipping functions. It can be downloaded from the FedEx website.
By using FedEx QuickShip, Microsoft Office Outlook users will be able to generate labels,track packages, check rates, schedule pickups and find FedEx drop-off locations while still insidetheir Outlook e-mail application, the company said. Shipments are stored in a task view allowingusers to recall and sort previous shipments.
“We are providing FedEx customers with another convenient option to choose how they accessand connect to FedEx services,” said David Zanca, senior vice president e-commerce technology,FedEx Services. “Our vision is to allow our customers, whether small businesses or globalcorporations, to be able to work more effectively, be more productive and reduce the effortrequired to ship.”

A FedEx spokeswoman told CEP-Research that that the hub itself was not damaged and thatflights had been delayed by the storm, rather than by the damage. The normal money-back serviceguarantees were in effect again from February 7.
