DHL is continuing to invest in the consumer market by signing a framework agreement with the ICAGroup, Sweden’s largest grocery chain, covering all retailers in the country.
The new agreement enables individual retailers to offer their customers the facility to postand collect DHL parcels of various sizes. “ICA is Sweden’s largest grocery chain, and now that weare increasing our cooperation, we expect to achieve a denser geographical coverage for ourSERVICEPOINT concept”, said Lars Jordahn, CEO of DHL Express (Sweden). “Today, we are offeringconsumers a facility to send domestic parcels, but by the end of the year it will also be possibleto send parcels abroad via our global network, which is something a lot of private individualswant,” he added.
The Servicepoint concept was launched at the end of last year as a key part of DHL ExpressNordic’s strategy for 2008 to strengthen its leading position in the region. DHL Express, with anetwork of 1,150 Servicepoints in Sweden, expects to have almost 1,500 outlets in the country bythe end of the year.
