FedEx hikes US trucking rates

FedEx’s two US trucking companies are increasing their rates for 2008 following a market slowdownin recent months. Both FedEx Freight and FedEx National LTL are putting up their general rates by

5.48 % with effect from January 14, 2008.

The general rate increase will apply to interstate and intrastate traffic, and certainshipments between the United States and Mexico and Canada. Various additional adjustments willinclude minimum and accessorial charges, as well as adjustments in fuel surcharges and selectedlanes and service areas.

“FedEx Freight and FedEx National LTL are committed to providing superior service forregional and long-haul shippers throughout North America,” said Dennie Carey, senior vicepresident, marketing, FedEx Freight. “Sustained investments in our employees, technology, equipmentand facilities will enable us to continue offering what customers expect from FedEx – safe andreliable transportation of their shipments by dedicated professionals.”

FedEx Express and FedEx Ground already announced earlier that they would be increasing rateswith effect from January 2008.
