DHL upgrades US deliveries for Dutch and Belgian customers

DHL has extended its US Next Day service throughout the Netherlands andBelgium and introduced a new DHL Express 10.30 service to enhance its delivery services from the

Since November, the US Next Day service available in the Dutch and Belgianmarkets has been considerably improved; DHL Express Benelux announced. Before this time, it wasavailable only to customers in the Randstad area (the Amsterdam-Rotterdam conurbation) and thoseclose to Brussels.

Now this service is available for all customers in the Netherlands andBelgium. Shipments are picked up until 12:30, while for the service centres around Hoofddorp, LaHaye, Rotterdam, Utrecht, Amersfoort, Brussels and Antwerp, DHL has extended the pick-up time to14:30.

In addition, the new 10:30 service, backed by a money-back guarantee, makes itpossible to deliver US-bound shipments to 70% of business addresses. DHL can deliver shipments tocentral Manhattan by 09:00 thanks to its direct helicopter transfer service from JFK airport.

“Thanks to considerable investments in our network we’ve become a seriouscompetition to our rivals in the US, not only in terms of reliability but also when it comes tocustomer satisfaction,” said Fred Beljaars, CEO DHL Express Benelux.

Since April this year, the customers in the main business areas ofNetherlands, Belgium, France, Germany, UK and Italy can profit from the US Next Day service. Thanksto the early pick-ups in Europe, effected at noon and next-day delivery to 96% of the businessaddresses in the US, the transit times for most of the parcels and DHL documents could beconsiderably reduced, DHL added.
