TNT Express upgrades Clinical Express

TNT "medpak CEN"

TNT Express Germany said it has optimized its product range „Clinical Express Network“ byintroducing additional services for night-time delivery of human and veterinary samples for

laboratories and other customers according to the “UN 3373” norm.

The service includes worldwide delivery with a range of time options, Saturday delivery andlate collections, and free packaging. The service also includes next-morning delivery free ofcharge for orders made until 2 p.m. the previous day.

According to legal standards, all diagnostic samples need a package corresponding to thepacking regulation IATA/ADR P650. The packaging solution developed in Sarstedt was tested andapproved by the German federal agency for material research und control (BAM).

TNT said it provides customers with the packaging solution “medpak CEN” free of chargeincluding external and secondary packaging. The external packaging is annotated with all thestipulated declarations and labels, e.g. “UN3373” label. This also contributes to the automaticsorting of shipments within the standard network of TNT Express.

“We have further developed the product according to the special requirements for shippingdiagnostic samples”, explained Dirk Bork, Solution Manager Life Science of TNT Express. “As ourcustomers, the laboratories are not obliged to provide their customers with packaging solutions andthus save time and money. We provide our customers not only with the packaging corresponding to alllegally stipulated declarations and labels, but they also get ready-made transport documentation aswell as professional consulting service. This way we offer a complete service range for medicalpersonnel varying from simple and comfortable handling to high safety standards and speed.”
