DHL offers Sunday Xmas delivery as letters go green

DHL Express Germany and Deutsche Post are offering two additional services for their customers inGermany this month: parcel delivery on the Sunday before Christmas and climate-neutral mail

deliveries.

On the fourth Sunday before Christmas Eve, DHL will deliver mail and parcels during the sameworking hours as on a regular working day to ensure that all gifts will reach their recipients intime for Christmas. Like every year, DHL will also deliver packages, parcels and letters onChristmas Eve during regular working hours. Customers who are not at home at that time on ChristmasEve will still have the opportunity to pick up their parcels on the same day until late in theevening at the nearest DHL station.

“This additional service on a Sunday demonstrates once again DHL’s strong commitment towardscustomer-oriented services. Especially business customers as well as private consumers will benefitfrom this special offer. Only DHL can provide this seamless service due to the dedication of ouremployees and our unparalleled distribution network in Germany,” commented Uwe Brinks, ManagingDirector DHL Parcel Germany.

Meanwhile, Deutsche Post is offering climate-neutral mail delivery to its customers for thefirst time. “Plus” letters, composed of an envelope with an imprinted special stamp and offered aspractical sets, will be transported in CO 2-neutral manner from 1 December 2007 on. The newGOGREEN-Service calculates and then compensates for all CO 2 emissions generated duringtransportation of the Plus letters or through in-house activities and external projects.

“With the new ‘GOGREEN Plus letter’ we are giving environmentally-minded private customersthe chance to contribute to environmental protection,” commented Ingo Bohlken, member of the MailGermany executive management.

The GOGREEN sets with Plus letters are the latest innovation within the CO 2-neutral productrange of GOGREEN services, Deutsche Post said. The postal operator has offered business customersclimate-neutral parcel deliveries within Europe since 2005, while private customers in Germany canuse the service since 2006.
