DHL Express Poland has opened its 100th Servicepoint one year after starting to develop the networkof retail service locations for consumers and small firms, and aims to double its size during 2008.
The 100th outlet is located at the information point in the commercial centre of Slask – SilesiaCity Center in Katowice.The demand for courier express services offered within the scope of DHL Servicepoints hasincreased significantly over the last year, DHL Express said. The number of packages sent inOctober 2007 was almost 400% higher than one year earlier.
The dynamic development of the DHL Servicepoint network in Poland followed the decision tobuild up services for individual and SOHO (small office, home office) customers. DHL Expressstarted developing its Polish network of Servicepoints in 2006, and by October, there were 17locations located in eight cities, operating in cooperation with six partners. One year later, theDHL Servicepoint network had grown to over 100 locations all over Poland covering 35 cities andjoined by 40 partners.
“After one year of operating DHL Servicepoints, I can say that we are happy with the obtainedresults. We offered the customers a new product on the Polish market – DHL Express4You – and we arehappy to see that it is becoming more and more popular. This is demonstrated by the numbers, bothwith respect to the increase of shipments sent in individual points and greater geographiccoverage,” said Piotr Buczkowski, DHL Express Poland’s deputy president for sales and marketing. “We will definitely use the experience acquired during this year for the further development of ournetwork. By the end of 2008, we plan to extend our network to 225 points.”
