DPD Polska has announced the opening of a new regional hub at Poznan in north-west Poland as partof its network expansion. The company plans to operate with regional hubs in Gdansk, Warsaw,
Katowice, Lodz and Poznan in future.The new 6,400 sqm depot doubles the size of the previous facility and gives the parceloperator additional capacity to cope with growing volumes in the region and the new operationalflow of parcels. Poznan is already the second-largest location for the company with 9,500 parcels aday at present.
DPD Polska said it has invested EUR 0.8 million in equipment for the leased building,including EUR 0.3 million on an automatic conveyor belt. The depot comprises 13 ramps and 40courier gates. The Poznan depot currently employs around 180 workers but the company expects to addmore staff as the site grows.
