About 7,000 postmen of Deutsche Post delivered the German edition of the latest Harry Potter book “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows” to 150,000 fans in Germany last Saturday in two hours from
midnight to 2 a.m.For the third time, Deutsche Post successfully cooperated with the media and mail-ordercompany Weltbild for the night-time delivery of Harry Potter books all over Germany. This time,50,000 more customers ordered the new novel of Joanne K. Rowling than was the case with the lasttwo editions. Between midnight and 2 a.m. Deutsche Post postmen delivered the books postage free tohomes nationwide.
The fastest postman during the night-time delivery was racing driver Timo Glock, whodelivered the first book of the 7th Harry Potter edition to the lottery winners Lydia und JulianSteden from Bergisch Gladbach in a Porsche Carrera at midnight.
“Our dedication almost borders on magic”, declared Jürgen Gerdes, managing director ofDeutsche Post’s German mail and parcel business. Within two hours our 7,000 postmen have deliveredall the ordered Harry Potter books to their destinations. The cooperation with Weltbild was verysuccessful.”
