Encouraged by the economic potential of Indonesia, TNT has recently inaugurated its new officelocated in the heart of South Jakarta and deployed 40 additional Mobile Worker units to further its
commitment in the country and to keep up with the growing customer demand.These facilities are part of TNT’s continued investment in Indonesia and its aggressiveexpansion in Southeast Asia region to achieve a revenue growth of 10-15% for 2007.
The new premise is a four-storey building, supported with an online system connected to TNT’snetwork capabilities in technology. It will provide services to TNT customers based in SouthernJakarta, which are mainly oil and mining companies for heavyweight shipment services. With the newoffice, TNT hopes to seize more business opportunities and enlarge its market share in the expressindustry.
Peter Langley, Director of TNT Indonesia, said during the opening: “The new office willcertainly strengthen TNT’s network especially in the Jabodetabek area. We have more strategiclocations with better access, which enables us to enlarge our customer database in Southern Jakartaand Bogor. We are optimistic about winning more accounts and leveraging our leadership in themarket.”
Additionally to the new office opening, TNT has also distributed around 40 Mobile Workerunits throughout its offices in Indonesia, which complement the existing 95 units in operation.Mobile Worker is a wireless hand held device supported with a scanner, which enables ground serviceagents/couriers to receive new job allocations as well as send and receive consignment pick-up anddelivery information through one device in a real-time manner.
With this system, the customer can track the status of each shipment within 10 minutes afterthe shipment has been picked up by a TNT courier, giving a hassle-free service for TNT customers toensure that their shipments will be delivered in a safe and timely manner.
