Spanish express company Seur and IBM Spain have signed an agreement to collaborate in helpingyoungsters at risk of social exclusion learn new technologies through access to computers.
The IT giant is making available computers from the renovation of its Spanish technology parkfor use by the Seur Foundation in the latter’s non-profit-making, humanitarian work.
The first delivery of computers has taken place – 10 machines for Project Xogomóbil, whichinvolves a bus travelling around markets in the Galician province of Orense encouraging children oftraders to explore leisure alternatives through computers and books.
“Collaboration between IBM Spain and the Seur Foundation supposes the donation of newresources that will make the humanitarian actions of both (companies) more effective,” the partiessaid in a joint statement.
Seur set up its foundation in 2004 to help improve child protection, aid employees of theSeur network and provide solidarity through logistics. Over 5,000 children benefited from itsprogrammes last year.
