International freight forwarder Schenker plans to enter the Canadian express market by setting up acourier service in the fourth quarter of this year.
The new courier division will be headed by Kathy Kropf, former Managing Director, CanadianWorld Wide Sales at FedEx Canada, the Deutsche Bahn logistics subsidiary announced. As Director ofSchenker’s new courier division, she will plan and oversee the completion of the company’s offeringin this critical part of the market.
Schenker Canada said that the division would complement the company’s growing suite ofsolutions for its customers. Combined with its strong credentials and partnership with Canada’sleading courier companies, which facilitate end-delivery, Schenker will provide a complete door todoor transportation and logistics service.
With the recent integration of BAX Global now complete, Schenker provides solutions for skidand package shipments. The company claimed to be the only supplier offering trans-border, domesticand international service with both heavy weight and courier integrated services.

From 1995 to 2007, Ms. Kropf held progressively more responsible positions with FedEx Canada,culminating in her Managing Director role which she held for over four years. Working with manyFortune 500 customers, Ms. Kropf was directly responsible for the strategic planning, execution andperformance of the Canadian World Wide division. Prior to that role, Ms. Kropf was employed withFedEx Ground and Roadway Express.
