DHL strengthens Middle East presence with Gulf Air deal

DHL Express has struck a deal with Gulf Air, the airline with the largest air network in the MiddleEast, to improve its worldwide coverage from the region while boosting the Bahrain-based company’s

cargo traffic volumes.

The express carrier has signed a one-year “global incentive agreement” with  the airlinewhich the companies say will strengthen the regional and global network capabilities of bothcompanies.

From now on DHL will have from Gulf Air improved access to bookings, regular interface withkey account managers, greater service commitment and better recovery plans including claimsprocessing.

“DHL Express has always been our preferred partner-in-business,” said Gulf Air’s head ofcargo, Sam Okpro.

“We appreciate their true partnership spirit during the negotiation of the agreement and lookforward to extending the partnership to DHL Global Forwarding and other global partners in the nearfuture.”
