TNT wins PC components distribution deal in UK

TNT Express has struck a deal with one of the UK’s biggest IT distribution companies, VIPComputers, to deliver PC components and software products to hundreds of High Street retailers and

PC builders.

The contract will also include some international deliveries, where the 56-bay TNT depot atLiverpool John Lennon Airport will come into play. The Liverpool Airport depot currently handlesmore than half a million deliveries for TNT each year.

“We’re delighted to have won this contract with VIP Computers – we have spent a long timebuilding a relationship with them,” said John Peden, strategic account manager at TNT TechnologyExpress.

”To finally win this business is great. We’ve already resolved some tricky IT issues and lookforward to providing a superior service with excellent levels of performance. Our Track & Tracesystem also provides VIP with accurate, worldwide, up-to-the-minute information regarding thestatus of their shipments – from collection to final delivery.”

Tom Jones, VIP logistics manager, commented: “Our partnership with TNT will provide customersin non-centralised UK locations better support, with more vehicles on the road. TNT will alsoprovide larger vehicles covering smaller delivery areas, ensuring full orders are delivered in onedrop.

”With VIP’s volume of LCD TVs increasing we needed a carrier to support careful delivery toour customers,” Jones added.
