Sweden’s Posten expands in Norway

Swedes expand

Swedish postal operator Posten is expanding its operations in Norway, it announced this week, byopening some 700 collection points for consumers to pick up parcels under its MyPack brand.



The new distribution network, run by Posten’s subsidiary, Posten Logistik, will provide apowerful alternative on the Norwegian market, the Swedish group said.

“Many companies have been seeking more alternatives on the Norwegian market and PostenLogistik’s ambition is to become a strong Nordic player.

“This new distribution network strengthens our Nordic presence whilst providing a logicalcomplement to our product portfolio,” said Anders Holm, Sales Director at Posten Logistik.

Posten’s target group is primarily larger distance sellers who require a strong partner forthe Nordic market. Norwegian consumers order goods from companies such as Ellos and Klingel whichare then delivered to a distribution point near the customer.
 
In Sweden, Ellos, the country’s largest distance selling company, sends 3.5 million packageseach year to its customers and its network in Norway is growing.
 
Posten Logistik manages packages, pallets and express services throughout the entire Nordicregion by means of subsidiaries and the DPD franchise network.
