FedEx Freight has reduced its standard LTL fuel surcharge by 25% with effect July 23, 2007, whileFedEx National LTL, the long-haul LTL company, will reduce its standard LTL fuel surcharge to
levels matching those of FedEx Freight.Fuel surcharges for both North American trucking companies are updated weekly, based on fuelprices published by the U.S. Department of Energy.
In addition to reducing fuel surcharges, FedEx Freight and FedEx National LTL are takingproactive steps to cope with rising fuel costs by operating some of the newest equipment in theindustry and working with engine manufacturers and official bodies to improve efficiency andproductivity.
