The Spanish express market grew by 9.4% last year, compared to 2005, reaching nearly 6.7 billioneuros, according to a new report.
Rising tariffs and consolidation among companies saw revenues rise, said Madrid-based marketresearcher DBK in a report released last week. In 2005, growth was 7% and 8% was expected lastyear.
Business parcels grew by 10% to almost EUR 3.8 billion and industrial courier services by8.6% to EUR 2.9 billion.
“EU enlargement was a factor behind increasing international parcels and courier growth, withless trade barriers, improved transit times and cheaper shipment costs,” said the study’s authors.
Earlier this year, DBK said that the Portuguese market should grow by 8% to EUR 590 million.
