Aramex-led alliance discusses strategy

Top management of the Global Distribution Alliance (GDA), the Aramex-led alliance of 40international logistics and transportation providers, met recently in Jordan to discuss strategy,

services and operational topics, Aramex said.

With over $7.5bn combined revenues, 12,000 offices, 30,000 vehicles and 66,000 employees, theGDA allows its members to strategically offer timely and trustworthy solutions for an extensiveworldwide customer base, the Middle East company said.

Over 140 delegates from the GDA’s worldwide network assessed the success factors thatcontributed to the double-digit growth in shipments and weights handled by the alliance since itsestablishment. They also discussed the global best practices, the latest trends, and theforthcoming global strategies.

Adrian Horsley, Aramex Chief Express Officer, said: “Leading the GDA over the last few yearshas had a tremendous impact on the development of Aramex’ global expansion strategy. Access to theworld’s most comprehensive IT infrastructure and the rich collective expertise of the variousmember companies played a great role in enhancing our service offerings.”

The meeting also provided “excellent opportunities for ambitious players such as Aramex toexplore strategic growth and expansion prospects both geographically and organically”, he added.
During this year’s two-day seminar, the GDA member companies discussed the recent keystrategic partnerships with national airlines, postal organizations and multinational companies. Inaddition to that, the delegates discussed the scene in emerging markets as well as new productsales outlook in various regions of the world.

They participated too in various sessions focused on the regional operations and salesdevelopment trends in the Asian, Eastern European, North American and African regions as well astechnology and system enhancement best practices, and quality service compliance and improvement.
