TNT Financial Services – TNT UK’s specialist division serving the British financial services sector–has received the ‘Corporate Responsibility Award’ from its commercial partner The Royal Bank of
Scotland Group (RBS) for its environmental commitment.TNT was acknowledged for its commitment to environmental issues including the reduced numberof miles covered by its vehicles while serving the RBS distribution network throughout the UK, thesubsequent reduction of its ‘carbon footprint’ along with unique initiatives such as piloting theworld’s first environmentally-friendly, battery powered, high performance zero emissions 7.5 tonnevehicle.
The RBS, which handed over the award at its recent 2007 Supplier Excellence Awards, praised TNT especially for reducing the total mileage covered on the RBS contract by more than420,000 miles and, in the process, saving around 43,000 litres of fuel.
