TNT Express has taken a ‘byte’ into international distribution for a major UK-based laptop computercompany with a contract worth a seven-figure sum. It already handled UK domestic distribution for
the customer.Under the new contract, TNT will handle distribution of thousands of laptops of IT giantComputacenter, based in Hatfield, southern England, to 63 different countries around the world. Thecomputers are destined for a major blue chip network services provider based across severalcontinents.
TNT Express said it was able to create a bespoke solution to ensure faster deliveries toComputacenter’s customers in Africa, Asia, Europe, India, Europe and the Middle East. The solutionfor taking the computers into 63 different countries involves a new method of paying duties toensure speedy clearance of customs.
Tony Carson, Business Development Manager for TNT Technology Express, the specialist divisionthat handles all high-tech collection and delivery requirements, said: “We have a strong andlongstanding business partnership with Computacenter forged over the past 15 years.
