DHL announced today that it has launched time-definite express services between Asia and the USA,offering Asian exporters a wider choice of international guaranteed delivery options.
DHL Asia Pacific said that the United States was now the fourth geographical region alongsideAsia Pacific, Europe and the Middle East where its Time Definite Delivery (TDD) product offeringwas available.
The new offering from Asia Pacific to the United States allows customers access to majorbusiness centres covering over 1,450 post codes in San Francisco, Los Angeles and New York throughthe MidDay Express, DHL said.
DHL now offers next-day MidDay Express delivery from Hong Kong, Korea, Japan and Taiwan tothe USA, second-day delivery from major markets including China, Australia, China, Malaysia, NewZealand, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam. India – USA is currently offered as a third-day deliveryservice.
TDD comprises StartDay Express and MidDay Express, providing customers with guaranteeddoor-to-door deliveries with the latest possible collection times for pre-nine am or pre-noondeliveries respectively. Key features of the TDD service are the money-back guarantee andpro-active shipment notifications.
Launched in 2002, TDD has seen tremendous growth, especially in Asia Pacific with an increaseof 50% from 2005 to 2006 alone. The intra-Asia Pacific network spans over 70 cities in 17countries. The inter-regional expansion meant DHL customers in Asia Pacific could now ship via theextensive TDD network of 46 markets and 227 major cities.
