DHL Express has launched a new service in France to return to manufacturers their unsold ordefective goods. The company expects to handle over 50,000 parcels per month this year through its
new “Réciproc” offer.The new service will return goods to any site the manufacturer specifies throughout thecountry, saving time, money and improving customer satisfaction, DHL France said.
“DHL Réciproc will take charge of all reverse transport operations, allowing companies betterto manage the return of their goods, which is becoming a growing dimension of their commercialstrategies,” DHL Express France said in a statement.
The service will be tightly supervised and returns will be made within 72 hours followingpick-up, said the carrier. The return address can be a different site from that giving the order,it added.
DHL Réciproc is part of a wider expansion of the group’s reverse logistics services inFrance.
The group’s Exel Supply Chain is to provide an electronic and electrical waste equipmentrecycling service on behalf of 150 manufacturers in France to comply with a new EU directive thatcomes into force later this year, similar to a scheme it has just had accredited in the UK.
And DHL Exel has also launched return schemes to repatriate unsold or defective goods fromsome 20 other European countries targeted by French exporters.
