DHL Asia chief elected head of regional economic organisation

Scott Price, Chief Executive Officer of DHL Express – Asia Pacific, has been elected as the newChairman of The Pacific Basin Economic Council (PBEC), a body of business leaders that focuses on

economic growth for the region.

Price was elected at PBEC’s recent Annual General Meeting in Hong Kong, and assumed officewith immediate effect. He succeeds Tan Sri Dato’ Azman Hashim, Malaysia’s AmBank Group Chairman.

As Chairman of PBEC, Scott Price is responsible for leading the oldest independent businessassociation covering Asia Pacific, whose membership comprises executives from economies borderingthe Pacific Rim and beyond.

“I am honoured to be part of an organization that for 40 years has been and continues to bededicated to shaping Asia Pacific and the global agenda by serving as an advocate for the needs ofbusiness and addressing critical global issues,” said Mr. Price. “I look forward to continuing thesuccess of Tan Sri Dato’ Azman and the Board of Directors in strengthening PBEC’s leadership byactively engaging our members, as well as government and other industry bodies, in managing issuessuch as globalization, security and business challenges.”

As the CEO of DHL Express Asia Pacific, based in Singapore, Price is responsible foroverseeing DHL’s growth and development strategies for Asia Pacific, which covers 41 countries andterritories. He is also well versed in the Asian business environment and culture, having worked inAsia for several years, being previously based in Australia, Hong Kong, Japan and Malaysia.

PBEC leaders tackle issues impacting all of Asia Pacific, including security issues,infectious disease, corruption, environmental stewardship, and managing the challenges ofglobalization. PBEC has unrivalled access to governments, the private sector and civil societyorganizations across the vast region of the Pacific Basin.
