United Parcel Service’s Bulgarian unit said export shipments grew 20% in January, on the same monthin 2006, while incoming deliveries also surged on the back of the south-east European country

joining the EU.

UPS launched its full portfolio in Bulgaria on its EU accession at the start of the year andnow offers express, standard and expedited services.

The carrier’s country marketing manager, Zhana Toromanova, told Bulgarian media that the newproducts were expected to generate 15% revenue growth in 2007.

Meanwhile, UPS said it achieved double-digit growth last year in the United Arab Emirates,its Middle East hub for small package and supply chain services, gaining market share as a result.

Fastest growth had been in supply chain services following UPS’s acquisition of MenloWorldwide Forwarding in 2005, International Freighting Weekly said.
