Empost, the United Arab Emirates’ express courier, announced yesterday the launch of aninternational cargo service aimed at making it the No. 1 logistics provider in the Gulf region.
The Emirates Post subsidiary has set up air, land and sea freight operations, from standardto expedited services; door-to-door and airport-to-airport forwarding, sea-to-air and air-to-airtranshipments, customs clearance, warehouse facilities, distribution services and landtransportation within the UAE and abroad.
“We are aiming to offer a comprehensive global supply chain solution that will reduce costs,improve customer service, reduce inventory investments and speed up product delivery,” said SultanAl Midfa, Empost CEO. “Empost Cargo and Logistics is perfectly positioned to become the bestlogistics provider in the region,” he added.
Empost was established in May 1997 to fill a gap in express courier services in the UAE andhas evolved into a diverse service organisation with an effective international distributionnetwork and infrastructure. It has a domestic market share of around 60% and a UAE-based fleet ofover 475 vehicles.

All incoming and outgoing logistical needs are sourced through one point of contact on a 24/7basis, Empost said. Booking and tracking is EDI-compliant and based on the Cargo CommunityNetwork, enabling suppliers and customers to communicate directly “to improve data integrity andgenerate significant cost savings”.
It offers flexible options for shipment and delivery ranging from 24 hours to seven days,depending on the urgency of the shipment. The sea freight service handles full and less-thancontainer loads, special equipment and oversized cargo, with personal cargo monitoring up toarrival.
