TNT Express UK is to ship bottle tints to drinks manufacturers such as Coca-Cola and Robinsons in adeal worth over GBP 1 million (EUR 1.49 million) with colourant supplier ColorMatrix.
The carrier will transport the goods the short distance from ColorMatrix’s Knowsleyheadquarters to the newly-opened, GBP 5.6 million (EUR 8.34 million) TNT depot at Liverpool’s JohnLennon Airport, where the consignments will be shipped throughout Europe as well as the UK.
“We’re delighted to take on this contract with such a prestigious industry player likeColorMatrix,” commented Eddie Calland, TNT business development manager.
“It’s gratifying to know that our implementation plan and overall logistics solutionimpressed them, and the opening of the new depot at Liverpool John Lennon Airport certainly gave usthe edge over our competitors,” he added.
“Consignments will be delivered through both our national and international air and roadnetworks, flying from Liverpool to TNT’s air hub in Liege, Belgium, and via our European road hubin Northampton (UK) through to Arnhem in the Netherlands.”
TNT said it was now negotiating to provide a global service for ColorMatrix from Eindhoven,the Netherlands.
