Schenker expands night express services

Night express and day-time freight

Leading German freight transport company  Schenker has expanded its specialised night expressservices. For standard parcel services, the Deutsche Bahn subsidiary cooperates with UPS.



Schenker Germany announced that its “NightPlus” service has grown tosome 2.1 million consignments per year. Goods are collected in late afternoon or early evening anddelivered by 08:00 the following workday morning, or even by 06:00 or 07:00 if required bycustomers.


The specialist express service is targeted at customers with urgent items such as spare partsthat have to be delivered before the start of the working day. Automotive workshops and repaircentres are a key customer group.

“Workshops can now repair vehicles more quickly, production systems can be brought back intooperation earlier, and expensive storage of spare parts is no longer necessary,” commented AloysWinn, Schenker Germany board member and responsible for overland transport.

The service is backed up by an internet-based IT system that enables customers to track andtrace items. Deliveries are available throughout Germany as well as to destinations in Benelux,Denmark, Austria and Switzerland.
