FedEx Express yesterday launched a new service in Canada, supporting and advising companies seekingsecurity certification for cross-border trading with the USA.
FedEx’s global trade advisory service offers to help businesses navigate the approval processfor the FAST, C-TPAT, PIP and CSA security programmes. The service consists of sending regulatoryexperts to examine a company’s facilities and procedures, and those of its suppliers, and recommendhow it can bridge the gap between existing procedures and what is required for certification.
“The launch of this service is in direct response to the voice of our customers who haveexpressed the need for assistance with navigating the dynamic and ever-changing regulatoryenvironment, particularly at the US border, following 9/11,” said Renate Jalbert, managingdirector, regulatory affairs of FedEx Express Canada.
“FedEx Express takes the hassle out of international shipping by having the customs knowledgeto clear packages fast and efficiently, and can deliver ease, simplicity and certainty in the tradeprocess,” Jalbert added.
FedEx employs approximately 5,000 people in Canada in over 60 facilities coast-to-coast.
