TNT has started direct weekday mail, parcel and freight flights from Bordeaux to its European airhub at Liège, Belgium, to improve services to exporters on the Atlantic side of France.
A new Boeing 737 freighter, with a capacity of 120 cubic metres, is able to transport aroundfour tonnes of international-bound goods out of Bordeaux each day during the week.
The freighter leaves Bordeaux Mérignac airport at 22.30, arriving in Liège by 01.15, andreturns at 07.30 the following morning.
The late new service allows extended pick-up times in Corréze, Dordogne, Gironde, Landes andPyrénées-Atlantiques and is TNT Express France’s sixth air platform connected to Liége, the othersbeing at Roissy (Paris Charles de Gaulle), Nantes, Lyon, Toulouse and Marseille.
“Taking charge of the goods directly in Bordeaux offers a maximum of flexibility andresponsiveness to exporters in the region,” TNT Express France said in a statement.
“This competitive advantage extends the geographical coverage of TNT to the furthestdistribution zones and thus offers additional business development perspectives to our clients.”
