DHL Express Germany has won a tender to deliver 15,000 tonnes of holiday brochures, flyers andcatalogues to travel agencies across Germany. The value of the contract was not disclosed.
Infox, a tourism industry service company, has contracted DHL to handle nationwide deliveryof the print material from tour operators and travel suppliers to the travel agencies. Parcelvolumes vary depending on the supplier and recipient, with several hundred agencies receiving morethan 500 parcels a year. Infox is used by the travel industry as a specialist distribution servicescompany.
In addition, German travel agencies using Infox will be able to buy discounted DHL “Paketmarke” labels to send parcels more cheaply than in the past. DHL and Infox plan to developmore special offers for travel agents.
