TNT Express has made Mark Fonseca chief operating officer of its newWestern Europe business unit, following the company’s worldwide reorganisation in January.
Fonseca, 46, former head of corporate services at TNT Express Germanyand who has been with the company in different positions for nearly 20 years, is now responsiblefor strategic planning, business development, financial and IT coordination at the new WesternEurope unit, which oversees the carrier’s activities in Germany, Benelux, France and Italy.
TNT Express reorganised into six new geographically-oriented businessunits – UK/Ireland, Western Europe, Americas-Middle East-Africa, China, Australia & NewZealand, and International – at the start of this year.
Fonseca will report to Donald Pilz, the former managing director of TNTExpress Germany who took over as chief executive of the Western Europe unit last month.
“Such an appointment gives us a fundamental impulse at theinternational level to enable the further development and growth of TNT Expess,” Pilzcommented.
