DHL has signed a two-year partnership deal with Japanese soccer champions Urawa Red Diamonds, wherethe team will wear kits sporting the DHL logo in Asian and European tournaments.
The Saitama-based outfit won the J-League last year and is taking part in the AsianChampionship League in June with teams from China and Korea to determine the Asian club champions.
The Reds are also competing with Austrian and German clubs for the Bull’s Cup in Austria inFebruary.
“DHL is supporting the Urawa Reds, who are expanding their sphere of activity internationallyfrom Japan to other Asian countries and the rest of the world,” said DHL Japan president GuenterZorn.
“This year marks 35 years of DHL’s service in Japan, and through this new partnershipagreement I believe that our customers will gain a deeper understanding of DHL’s role in bringingJapan closer to the rest of the world.”
