DHL Express is to put its GoGreen service at the disposal of delegates to the World Economic Forumin Davos, Switzerland, next week, where climate change is top of the agenda.
The GoGreen shipping service is “carbon-neutral”, says the Deutsche Post subsidiary, in thatcarbon dioxide emissions generated by pick-up and deliveries are offset by investment in greenhousegas reduction projects, ranging from alternative vehicle technologies to renewable fuels.
“The service was launched given the urgency of the fight against climate change, which is akey subject of the forum’s crucial and prestigious annual meeting which brings together worldleaders, shaping global, regional and industry agendas,” DHL said in a statement.
Over 2,000 leaders from business, politics, academia, the media and civil society will gatherin Davos for the WEF meeting, which starts on Wednesday and runs until Sunday (24-28 January).
The carrier will ship event materials for participants under the GoGreen label and use twoDHL Express Switzerland biogas-powered, carbon-neutral vehicles.

“With GoGreen, we offer an international solution for European customers, makingcarbon-neutral shipping easy,” Ebus added.
For sending carbon-neutral shipments, the customer has to choose the service when ordering.The carbon reduction projects are handled through a carbon management programme verified annuallyby Swiss certification organisation SGS.
