GLS delivers hit computer game to Austrian retailers

GLS delivers PC games in Austria

GLS has successfully completed the day-certain delivery of the latest version of the hit computergame “World of Warcraft” to retailers across Austria. The game, played by eight million users

around the world, went on sale in the USA and Europe on January 16.

GLS Austria said that it delivered the items as express parcels just-in-time to majorelectronics retailers across the country on Saturday, January 14, on behalf of its customerEntertainment Distribution Company (EDC). The games were transported by GLS from the EDCdistribution centre in Germany to Austria on January 13, sorted overnight and distributed acrossAustria in special early-morning delivery rounds on January 14. Receipt was automaticallytransmitted back to EDC.

“The sale of the latest game extension was coordinated to start in North America and all ofEurope on January 16,” explained Klaus Witt, EDC transport traffic manager. “Many fans have orderedin advance and taken extra holiday. Absolute punctuality and reliability are especially importantfor deliveries of this product to retailers.”

Most of the 60,000 games destined for Austria were shipped directly by EDC to its localdistribution partners.
