Spanish express and logistics company Azkar has taken over freight forwarder Boss Continental todevelop its air and sea freight business and improve its customs clearance capabilities.
Barcelona-based Boss is one of the most active logistics operators in Spain, managingdoor-to-door import and export operations worldwide. Chief executive Ángel de Santisteban becomesAzkar’s overseas director.
Azkar has 85 facilities, totalling over 1.1 million sqm, in Spain and Portugal, and claims tobe the largest international logistics operator in Iberia.
The Azkar group employs over 5,000 staff and has a fleet of more than 2,200 vehicles, withoffices in China and Hong Kong.
Last month Azkar opened a EUR 2.6 million new logistics centre in Zaragoza to serve majorcities throughout the country.
