DHL Express has opened more centres and drop-off points in China, Taiwan and Bangladesh as part ofits drive to boost revenues further in Asia-Pacific.
With its Chinese partner Sinotrans, the Deutsche Post subsidiary is setting up a new centrein Lhasa, capital of the Tibet Autonomous Region, its 73rd branch in China.
The company has also inaugurated its new EUR 1.3 million Tainan service centre in southernTaiwan to meet growing customer demand in a rapidly expanding high-tech business area.
“The completion of the new service centre not only strengthens DHL’s commitment to Tainan,but also raises the international competitiveness of the region’s businesses by offering evenfaster, more efficient and integrated air express and logistics solutions,” DHL said in astatement.
DHL has also launched express delivery services from 10 petrol stations in Taiwan. Thecarrier has partnered with select Formosa gasoline outlets to allow customers to drop off shipmentsfrom vehicles temporarily parked in the stations so that they avoid parking difficulties elsewherein built-up Taiwanese areas.
Meanwhile in Bangladesh, the company opened its 18th express centre in the country at theAdamjee Export Processing Zone (EPZ), following in the footsteps of centres in other EPZs in Dhaka,Chittagong and Comilla.
DHL is investing more than EUR 100 million in the Asia Pacific this year in a bid to increaseits revenues from the region by up to 18%.
