TNT has won a top award for its corporate web site – http://group.tnt.com – in a survey of over 170European companies.
The group site headed the annual “Webranking”, compiled by Swedish financial communicationsconsultants Hallvarsson & Halvarsson, a survey of high-profile Internet users such asinvestors, analysts and business journalists.
TNT’s pages were particularly cited for their navigational facility and held up as abenchmark for best practice. TNT scored 88.75 points out of 100, for its display of and access to arange of financial information, and was a clear winner from runners-up Danske Bank, Telecom Italia,Fortum and UBS.
“We are very proud that, for the second time in succession, we have been awarded bestcorporate web site in Europe,” said Peter Bakker, TNT CEO. “Transparency is crucial in deliveringtrust to our customers, employees and shareholders.
“We believe a good web site is an essential element of the communication with ourstakeholders.”
The 2006 survey placed more emphasis on interactive criteria such as podcasts, online annualreports and RSS news feeds. More than 120 criteria for the survey were drawn from the responses toa questionnaire sent to more than 400 financial analysts, investors and business journalists from25 European countries.
