DHL Express has opened a fourth hub in Poland to deal with growing local postal, pallet and parceltraffic and international mail transported by road and air.
The new EUR 4.5 million terminal at Lodz, in the centre of the country, adds to three otherfacilities in Warsaw, Gluchowo and Zabrze.
“The Lodz special economic area is one of the fastest developing economic regions in thecountry,” said Aleksander Morozowski, DHL Express Poland president.
“It has good road and train connections with all important centres in Poland. Seeing how itwas developing, we needed to react to the growing needs of our customers.”
The 4,000sqm Lodz terminal, which employs 64 office workers and 76 couriers, will be able toprocess 22,000 parcels daily, says DHL. It is equipped with 23 gates for line-haul trucks, 50express courier gates, seven groupage truck gates and a customer service point.
