DPD GeoPost plans new distribution centre in north-west Germany

DPD GeoPost, the German subsidiary of La Poste, is planning a new parcel distribution centre innorth-west Germany to strengthen its network in the region. Some €18 million will be invested in

the new centre in the town of Melle, close to Osnabrück.

Investor Movesta Lease and Finance will design the new centre with capacity to handle some60,000 parcels a day, with space to grow to 100,000 parcels daily.

Some 550 new jobs will be created at the parcel centre, the Melle civic authority said. About€18 million will be invested at the site, including financial support from the local and regionalauthorities.

Melle is strategically located on the Amsterdam – Hanover motorway, north of the Rhine-Ruhrindustrial region.
