DHL announced that Danny van Himste has been appointed as managing director of the business unitExpress BeLux (Belgium and Luxembourg).
The 46-year-old has more than 20 years of management experience in the logistics sector.Previous posts included with the supermarket company GB (now Carrefour), Gates, a rubber producerfor the automotive and industrial sectors, and then Managing Director Food & Consumer MainlandEurope for British logistics company Christian Salvesen.
The appointment follows the naming earlier this month of long-serving DHL Express executiveFred Beljaars as the new managing director of DHL Express Benelux, with overall responsibility forthe Netherlands, Belgium and Luxembourg. He replaced Ad Ebus, the new CEO Europe for DHL Express.
