DHL carried off three top honours at the Asia Logistics Awards presented in Singapore thisweek, winning the express operator, airfreight forwarder and 3PL operator of the year categories.
The awards are reward for DHL’s recent strong expansion in the Asia Pacific region,especially China. Recent developments include the $110 million expansion of the company’s centralAsia hub, a strategic alliance with Transline and the building of hub facilities in Indonesia,South Korea and Singapore.
The criteria for Express Operator of the Year focused on reliability, cost and level ofcustomer service. “We are honored to receive this coveted award, which underscores our number onepriority of making our customers successful, mostly because it came from the most importantstakeholders – our customers,” said Scott Price, CEO of DHL Express Asia Pacific. “This is afitting tribute to the dedicated teams at DHL who put tremendous effort every day to ensure that wecontinue to provide superior value proposition and more innovative customized solutions.”
DHL won the airfreight forwarder award for the fourth consecutive year, which delighted PeterLandsiedel, CEO of DHL Global Forwarding Asia Pacific.“With shortening product lifecycles andgrowth in demand for outsourcing, air freight logistics has become increasingly sophisticated overthe past years,” explained Lansiedel.
“This award is a significant testament to our capability and flexibility in managing ourcustomers’ changing requirements efficiently.”
Humberto Florez, CEO of DHL Exel Supply Chain Asia Pacific, after receiving the 3PL operatorof the year award, commented: “We will continue to leverage synergies between the differentbusiness units to deliver industry-specific end-to-end logistics solutions across all industries,as our customers have come to expect from us.”
The annual awards are organised by Lloyd’s Freight Transport Buyer Asia publication, whosereaders, and those of the Asian editions of Containerisation International and InternationalFreighting Weekly, voted for their choices. A panel of 15 judges then selected the winners.
