The Swiss arm of DHL Express has begun work on a huge new distribution centre in Regensdorf, thatwill ship parcels and freight internationally and nationally from the end of 2007.
The company said the centre – at 33,500 square metres – would be its largest and most modernhub to date and would also house offices for marketing and sales activities.
“We are investing in a modern competence and logistics centre for national and internationalexpress parcels and freight shipments in the Zürich economic area,” said Martin Müller-Duysing,managing director of DHL Express Switzerland.
“This new centre is a further contribution to the successful development of DHL Switzerland,”he added.
“An office complex with space for up to 420 employees will also be built in addition to theproduction facility for parcels, express and freight shipments.”
