TNT Express has put a new EUR 5 million regional base for Western France at Nantes into operation.
The regional base at Thouaré sur Loire, just outside Nantes, is located on a 5,700 sqm site,with 4,000 sqm allocated to the terminal and 1,700 sqm for the regional head office. A total of € 5million has been invested at the site, where 130 staff will work. The new facility incorporateshigh-level security features, including video surveillance and alarms linked to TNT’s nationalcontrol system.
“This new site will enable us to increase our operating capacity and to work in idealsecurity conditions. It is a positive change for the employees as well as for customers who willbenefit from later collection times,” commented Gilles Baluel, regional operations director for TNTExpress France.
The regional base is connected to TNT’s worldwide network via regular flights from Nantesairport to the company’s European air hub at Liege. “This is a real competitive advantage forexporting companies located in the western region,” explained Christophe Legrais, regional salesdirector.
