Finland Post Group has announced that its leading information logistics subsidiaries, ItellaFinland Ltd and Elma Electronic Trading, will join forces. The Finnish national postal operator
said in May that it would re-brand all its activities apart from domestic consumer postal servicesunder the Itella name from January 2007.Although operations under the new organisation began on 1 September, the two companies ItellaFinland and Elma will see their combination take legal effect on 1 January 2007. With a combinedstaff of around 900 and net sales of €115 million, the new company forms part of Itella Group whichoperates in eight Northern European countries. It is a top expert in electronic messaging services,eInvoicing, printing services, data management and marketing, Finland Post said.
This integration will enable the new company to provide corporate customers with anincreasingly seamless service package for invoicing and customer relationship management, andgenerate greater efficiency in their customer service processes. With respect to consumersolutions, consumers can choose how and in what form they wish to receive their invoices – inprinted form delivered to their letterboxes, or electronically to their online bank or Netposti.
Vuokko Skyttä, Itella Finland’s Managing Director, has also acted as Elma’s Managing Directorsince 1 September. Jari Annala, Elma’s former Managing Director, will take up his duties asDirector of Business Development, Information Logistics, Finland Post Group.
