TNT Express Austria said it has had a very successful first half-year with higher revenues and a99% rise in operating profits (Ebit).
The express operator increased Austria revenues by 13%, the number of customers grew by 6%and the volume of transported shipments rose 5%. TNT Express does not normally disclose absolutefigures for its country units.
“This is a dramatic development,” declared Helmut Steiner, managing director of TNT ExpressAustria. The operator had good growth for shipments to and from Eastern Europe, along withshipments to Scandinavia, the UK and Spain, he added.
“We also scored with our Special Service department, our ‘action team’ for unusual customerneeds. These services are increasingly being demanded by our customers,” Steiner commented.
