FedEx has signed up an express subsidiary of Vietnam Post as its official agent in the fast-growingAsian country, the Thanh Nien newspaper reported. A planned DHL-Vietnam Post express joint venture
also recently received approval.Under a three-year agreement, the Vietnam Post and Telecommunication Group (VNPT) subsidiaryPost Office Express Joint Stock Company (PCN) will provide air cargo services for FedEx.
Dang Thi Bich Hoa, chairwoman and general director of PCN, said the cooperation between PCN,with an 80% share of the Vietnamese domestic express market, and the global express giant wouldmean better delivery services for customers.
FedEx has cooperated with VNPT since 1994 and is currently represented in most majorVietnamese cities, including Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City.
