UPS resumes talks with pilots

UPS has resumed talks with its pilots, although the two sides are not yet back at thenegotiating table over pay and working conditions.

Officials from the company and the Independent Pilots Association (IPA) met at the weekend afterthe federal mediator asked the two sides to continue talks that started early last week, theLouisville-based Courier-Journal newspaper reported.

UPS and the IPA have been in pay talks for three years but negotiations collapsed last December.The federal mediator who had been overseeing the negotiations then officially put the talks intorecess.
